José Luis Aliaga, our Quality, MA, Occupational Health and Safety, Maintenance, and Plant Engineering Manager for CP Gandia and CRugat, plays a vital role that is often behind the scenes, but absolutely essential. We’re going to ask our colleague José Luis some questions to shed light on this role and learn more about it.
Tell us more about yourself.
My career began in a prominent multinational company in the plastics industry, where I took my first steps in the fields of Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and the Environment. I consider myself a person who enjoys collaborating for the company’s success. In this new chapter at BASOR ELECTRIC, taking on the role of Occupational Health and Safety Manager, my primary focus is to foster a culture of prevention through collaboration with my colleagues, both in production and in the offices. We aim to proactively address potential incidents that may arise in an industrial environment, placing workplace safety at the forefront of everything. Additionally, I have a passion for sports, leading a healthy lifestyle, and maintaining a positive mindset. In recent years, I have dedicated my training to acquiring technical and sector-specific knowledge for each field in which I have worked.
What motivates you most in your work?
Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and the Environment have been a turning point in my professional career, allowing me to unleash my full potential for over 25 years. My goal has always been to do things right from the start. I firmly believe in how my knowledge and experience can contribute to the company, not only in terms of management but also on a human level. At BASOR ELECTRIC, I feel like an integral part, which enables me to give my best.
What are your primary responsibilities as the Quality Manager in these plants?
My core responsibility is to ensure that all processes are carried out accurately and under control. I make sure that tasks are executed correctly for the best outcome for BASOR ELECTRIC and, of course, for the utmost satisfaction of all our customers who rely on our high-level management. We work every day for and with our customers.
What have been your most significant achievements in terms of quality improvement since you joined?
One of my most notable achievements has been bringing our colleagues closer to the culture of Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, and the Environment. We have successfully passed various inspections and audits conducted by Official Organizations, both in Low Voltage installations and Fire Protection systems. We also work effectively to reduce pollutant emissions into the atmosphere, aiding the Environment. Additionally, we have worked on reducing potential deviations, achieving significant improvements in the quality of all our products. To achieve this, we use cutting-edge technology in tests, trials, and controls, in line with current regulations and the latest certifications.
Do you have any medium or long-term goals in your work?
My medium and long-term goal is to maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) in our two production centers in Gandia and Castelló de Rugat, as well as improve our current certifications such as UNE EN ISO 45001:2018, UNE EN ISO 9001:2015, and UNE EN ISO 14001:2015. Furthermore, we remain committed to continuous improvement and excellence in everything we do.
Thank you José Luis for your time!
